The Southeastern Wilderlands

The Southeastern Wilderlands are comprised of the extensive island wilderlands in the southern Winedark Sea, the mainland wilderlands south of the Ghinor shore of the Sea of Five Winds and the wilderlands along the southwestern shore of the southern Winedark Sea as it opens into the Great Ocean.

The Southeastern Wilderlands are detailed in the Wilderlands of the Fantastic Reaches which includes campaign maps and associated information for the Isles of the Dawn in the northern reaches of the southern Winedark Sea, the Silver Skein Isles in the southern reaches of the southern Winedark Sea, the Southern Reaches along the southwestern shore of the southern Winedark Sea and the Ghinor Highlands in the interior south of the Ghinor shore of the Sea of Five Winds.

The Isles of the Dawn (Campaign Map 15) comprise the northern reaches of the southern Winedark Sea and are bordered by the Ebony Coast to the north, the Isles of the Blest to the west, the Silver Skein Isles to the south and by the Great Ocean to the east.

The Isles of the Dawn are very sparsely populated.  The largest settlement in the region is the market village of Dragonscar, with a population of 310, at the mouth of the river emptying into Sinderlerian Bay on the largest of the islands.  The largest non-human settlement is the Elven timber village of Birchall, with a population of 170, on the southwestern coast of the same island.

A dragon is rumoured to lair in the forest between Dragonscar and Birchall though both villages seem to have been unmolested by the dragon.

South of the Isles of the Dawn, the Silver Skein Isles comprise the southern reaches of the southern Winedark Sea (Campaign Map 17) and are bordered on the west by the Ghinor region, on the south by the Southern Reaches and by the Great Ocean to the east.

The largest settlement in the Silver Skein Isles, with a population of 9,120, is the port-market city of Tula, on the southwestern shore of the southern Winedark Sea near Sailor's Bane Cape.  Tula is one of the largest cities in all of the Wilderlands — rivalling Warwik in the City State region — and has much influence across the mainland of the Southern Reaches, the Ghinor region and the Ghinor Highlands.  With a population of 8,750, the port-market city of Rallu, on the southeastern coast of the Isle of the Best, is the second largest settlement in the region, nearly the size of Tula.  Rallu enjoys great influence throughout the Silver Skein Isles.  The largest Non-Human settlement is the Elven oil-making village of Noenthal, with a population of 319, on the central shore of the southern Winedark Sea.

Dragons are rumoured to lair near the small group of islands northeast of the mainland coast and southeast of the Silver Skein archipelago.

West of the Southern Reaches are the Ghinor Highlands (Campaign Map 18), bordered on the north by the Ghinor region, on the east by the Ament Tundra and by an unknown Antarctic region to the south.

The Ghinor Highlands are sparsely populated.  The largest settlement is the cloth-making village of Briarbrush, with a population of 459, in the southwest of the region, just below Morkymirth Hills, well inland from the Sea of Five Winds coast.  The largest Non-Human settlement is the Dwarven market village of Saltorous, with a population of 435, in the Abbots Quest Hills where Fullerin's Pass comes down from the Highlands.

A dragon is rumoured to lair in the woods surrounded by the Morkymirth Hills.  Another dragon is rumoured to lair north of the Over Doom Mountains, along the east bank of the Brown Thorn River.
