Starfield: Nyanza District
"The term 'Nyanzan pirate' has long been used falsely to connect the Federation with bands of rogue marauders in the region."

Nyanza District
Worlds (Sankuru | Nyanza) | Map | Commerce
Named for the capital world of the Federation of Nyanza (at hex-prism 1531.12), the Nyanza District contains 21 worlds. District population in is excess of four billion with nearly 90% at Nyanza. The Nyanzan world Sankuru is the only other world in the district with high population and high technological accomplishment.
The Nyanzan worlds Chobe, Hizam Nuhasiun, Makueni and Pemba are known as the Almasi Cluster. The Nyanzan worlds Hardap and Kavango connect to Nyanza in the Nyanza Trace. Likewise Siaya, Sankuru and Maniema form the Sankuru Trace.
Nyanza District is the heart of the Federation of Nyanza: two-thirds of its worlds are members of the Federation. Two worlds claim allegiance to the Ouroran Community, to trail-downward. (The Community also claims the resource world Gizanyumbani — which it calls Casãscura — and maintains several settlements there.). The remaining five worlds are independent.
The Federation of Nyanza has naval bases at Nyanza and Sankuru. The independent world Oshikoto also hosts a Federation naval base. The Federation has scout bases at several worlds including at the independent worlds Zambezi and Chinsali. The Ouroran Community maintains scout bases at both Kiambu and Kavango. Total military forces in Nyanza District exceed 32 million, with the bulk at Nyanza.
The Federation of Nyanza maintains a J-2 jump bridge — Pengo Daraja — between the worlds Luapula and Hardap to facilitate travel between the Nyanzan Trace and the other Nyanzan worlds in the District.

District Worlds table notes:
[α] Hex-prism location, based upon distance — in parsecs — from Earth / Sirius (at location 1720.19), as derived from the "Near Star List" from 2300 AD. (For stars beyond 50 light-years — approximately fifteen parsecs — from Earth / Sirius, the location has been developed specifically for the Earth Colonies campaign and is not expected to align with actual astronomical data.)
[β] World Data Codes for gravitational acceleration (GA), atmosphere breathability (AB), biosphere development (BD), population magnitude (PM), social authority (SA) and technological achievement (TA).
[γ] In most cases, spectral type, luminosity class, and common name (or star catalogue designation) of all stars in system as listed in the "Near Star List" from 2300 AD. Links to additional stellar information provided by the Strasbourg Astronomical Data Center SIMBAD database, the Astronomisches Rechen-Institut ARICNS database and Roger Wilcox's Internet Stellar Database — which also provides a list of stars in the database within a given number of lightyears of a star. (For stars beyond 50 light-years — approximately fifteen parsecs — from Earth / Sirius, the stellar classication data has been developed specifically for the Earth Colonies campaign and is not expected to align with actual astronomical data. These stars are named using a Prometheus Foundation classification system comprised of a unique capital Greek letter — based upon the system's hex-prism location within the district — and a Latinised form of the district name, e.g. "Α Nyanzae.")
[δ] Commercial Operations codes: Ag = agricultural production (BD 3+, PM 4+), Ap = agricultural production and processing (BD 3+, PM 7+, TA 9+), Cs = communication services (PM 7+, TA 9+), Fs = financial services (PM 7+, TA 9+), Ma = manufacturing (PM 7+, TA 9+), Re = resources extraction (BD 2-, PM 4+), Rp = resources extraction and processing (BD 2-, PM 7+, TA 9+), Tr = transportation services (PM 7+, TA 9+).
[ε] Military forces codes for Navy base (N), Navy depot (D), Scout base (S) or Scout way station (W). (Allegiance codes in parentheses indicate a military base in an independent system.) Total number (K = x 1000, M = x 1,000,000) of local military forces (planetary and space).
[ζ] Allegiance codes: Ab = Abrahamic Synod, Ae = Aeroi Worlds, Az = Empire of Aztlán, Co = Commonwealth of Earth, He = Realm of Hejaz, In = Independent, Ki = Republic of Kiangsi, Me = Meren Worlds, Ny = Federation of Nyanza, Ou = Ouroran Community, Qu = Quebecer Republic, Ra = Rajasthani Confederacy, Sh = Empire of Shinnihon.

Nyanza is located at the trail-coreward region of Nyanza and is part of the Nyanza Trace.
Nyanza has standard surface gravity (1.0G) and a breathable atmosphere. Its native biosphere has produced advanced fauna. Nyanza's population is in the billions and its social authority is a democratic oligarchy. Nyanza has late interstellar stage technological achievement, among the most sophisticated in the Colones Sphere.
Commercial activities at Nyanza include agricultural production and processing, commercial and financial services, manufacturing (and shipbuilding), and interstellar shipping.
